Beyond Shadowing:
A Virtual Clinical Education
A Virtual Clinical Education
It can be difficult to accumulate the shadowing hours needed to get accepted into medical school. That’s why we collaborated with more than 20 of the world’s best doctors to give you a behind-the-scenes look at practically every specialty.
Feeling Out the Life of an Anesthesiologist.
Are you interested in the specialty of anesthesiology? Dive into anesthesiology shadowing and learn from an online lecture, interactive discussions, and presentations by a practicing anesthesiologist.
During anesthesiology shadowing, you will follow Dr. Lindgren, a second year anesthesiology resident at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in neurobiology and later attended medical school at Texas Tech. Her additional education includes an MBA from the Rawls College of Business.
In her life as an anesthesiology resident, Dr. Lindgren spends time in both the pre-op clinic and also in the operating room during various surgeries. She enjoys being able to perform procedures, administer medications, and take care of patients from the start to end of their experience in surgery. Dr. Lindgren talks about the different fields within anesthesiology and provides advice for pre-med students interested in a career in medicine and anesthesia.
While you don’t need to go through your residency and fellowship just yet, with anesthesiology shadowing through the Virtual Clinical Education Series you will learn about the daily life of an anesthesiologist, and earn a Certificate of Completion that you’ll be able to add to your medical school application and resume. By the end of the session with Dr. Lindgren you will be able to answer questions, such as:
